Biyografi

Dr. Cagli specializes in Financial Economics, focusing on Money, Capital, and Financial Institutions. Dr. Cagli completed his academic journey at Dokuz Eylul University. He earned his undergraduate degree in Econometrics in 2008 and continued to pursue a postgraduate degree in MS in Finance from 2008 to 2010, exploring volatility forecasting in Borsa Istanbul sector indices. Dr. Cagli furthered his studies with a Doctorate in Business Administration, successfully defending a dissertation titled “Forecasting the equity risk premium with macroeconomic and technical indicators: International evidence” in 2014.

The areas of interest include energy finance, ESG, cryptocurrency, and applied time series econometrics. His studies have been published in reputed journals: Finance Research Letters (Q1), Resources Policy (Q1), Energy Economics (Q1), Emerging Markets Review (Q1), Borsa Istanbul Review (Q1), Sustainability Accounting Management and Policy Journal (Q1), and others. Dr. Cagli’s academic journey includes roles as a Research Assistant, progressing to an Assistant Professor in 2016 and attaining the title of Associate Professor in 2020. He briefly served as a Research Assistant at Bentley College’s Adamian Academic Center in the Department of Finance during the academic year 2015-2016.

In addition to academic achievements, Dr. Cagli has performed administrative roles, serving as the Deputy Head of the Department of Business since 2023 and as a Faculty Board Member at the Faculty of Business. He also contributed to the internationalization of Dokuz Eylul University’s Faculty of Business as the Erasmus Program Institutional Coordinator from 2020 to 2023. He has been the CFA coordinator for the Faculty since 2019, responsible for communication with the CFA Society and advising students for the CFA Research Challenge.
