In the Aegean region, particularly in Izmir and Manisa, facilities for steel production, iron casting, steel casting, aluminum casting, machine production, plastic materials, and ceramic production are concentrated. From a regional perspective, these facilities have a significant need for metallurgical and materials engineers. Engineers graduating from our department will play a crucial role in meeting this demand.

At the national and international levels, the field of materials technology remains a priority area for research, with studies supported and development activities pursued in many areas. Therefore, students studying in this department have the opportunity to work in production facilities in our region, as well as in production and research institutions both domestically and internationally in the future.
