Asst. Prof. ÖMÜR SALTIK

Biography

Dr. Ömür Saltık served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Konya Food and Agriculture University from 2021 to 2024. His educational background includes a Ph.D. thesis titled "An Examination of Investment Decisions Under Decreasing Uncertainties: A Neuroeconomic Approach" in Economics from Mersin University, a master's thesis titled "Volatility Modeling in Crude Oil and Natural Gas Prices" in Financial Economics from Dokuz Eylül University, and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, also from Dokuz Eylül University.

Throughout his academic career, he has worked as a research assistant at Dokuz Eylül University, Mersin University, and Toros University. His sectoral experience includes roles such as Chief Editor at Hisse Analiz/Insider, and internships at Aksogirta, PKF İzmir SUN, and Ekinciler Investment Securities Inc.

Saltık has been involved in BAP and TÜBİTAK projects and has numerous publications in national and international journals. His publications include articles in journals such as "Humanities, Social Science and Communications" published by Nature, including works like "Predicting Loss Aversion Behavior With Machine Learning Methods," "Herding Towards Pymagilion: Examining the Cultural Dimension of Market and Bank-Based Systems," and "Volatility Modelling in Crude Oil and Natural Gas Prices."

He has also contributed to national and international books and book chapters and served as a visiting faculty member at the University of Craiova under the Erasmus Program.

His technical skills include advanced VBA programming in Excel and high-level coding experience in Python, R, and Matlab. He also has intermediate knowledge of C#, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, contributing to projects with these languages. He is proficient in tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Maven to support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.

Dr. Ömür SALTIK is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Economic Policy Division, at the Faculty of Business, Dokuz Eylül University. He is married and has one child.
