Assoc. Prof. ESİN ERGÖNÜL

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esin Ergönül is an academic specialising in medical education, public health and health sciences. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Dokuz Eylül University in 1999, she completed her medical specialisation at the Department of Internal Medicine Sciences at the same university in 2004. In addition to her medical specialisation, she completed her Master's degree in Medical Education at the Institute of Health Sciences, Akdeniz University in 2013.

Dr Ergönül's academic career focuses on medical education, public health and social sciences, with particular contributions in the areas of public health, medical students' learning styles, educational methods and the use of technology in education. Her publications are indexed in international databases such as Scopus and Web of Science, with a total of 202 citations, and her h-index is 8 according to Web of Science and 4 according to Scopus. In addition, she holds editorial and peer review positions in national research institutions (TUBITAK, TUBA) and various scientific journals.

Her administrative responsibilities at Dokuz Eylül University include chairing the Department of Medical Education, chairing the Programme Evaluation Committee and being a member of the Accreditation Commission. She also leads efforts aimed at continuous improvement of educational programmes, faculty training and integration of technology in education.

In recognition of her contributions to public health, Dr Ergönül received an Honorary Award from the Governor's Office of Kastamonu in 2008. She is currently an Associate Professor at Dokuz Eylül University. Her future research interests include the development of innovative approaches to medical education and health sciences.
