Özet

Transportation is one of the most important problems in big cities. This problem is solved by the metro constructions. The tunnels are preferred in the solution of compact layouts and in the metro constructions. Deformations are occurred during the tunnel excavations and these deformations cause damage on substructure and surrounding buildings. Reducing the deformations to minimum levels is planned by using different support systems. Especially, intersecting of two or more tunnels at underground stations increases the deformations on surface and makes solutions more complicated. Nowadays, the simplest way to obtain these solutions is the numerical modeling technique. This paper includes the preliminary research of intended T2 (station tunnel), T3 (service tunnel) and T4 (staircase tunnel) intersecting and their affects on surface buildings at Izmir Metro 2nd Phase construction by numerical modeling.
