Abstract

A multilateral project has been initiated by research teams from 6 countries, including the authors, to focus on the development of rules for water quality monitoring network assessment and redesign. The project is supported by NATO in the form of a Linkage Grant (LG) and is completed in March 1998. The project sets up an integrated approach to the problem of water quality monitoring network design. The paper presented basically outlines the outcomes of the LG project and discusses the set of rules developed for the assessment and redesign of water quality monitoring networks.
