Özet

Disaster-related events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and earthquakes that occurred in the recent years and significantly affected the systems of all countries, have had some impacts in many areas, especially in the field of education, and the importance of health and health education. In order to raise healthy societies, it is necessary to determine the current status by analyzing the education system and related curricula's inclusion of health concepts and health education, and to take the necessary steps in the light of the findings. In this context, the scope of the current research is to investigate the inclusion of health education in the learning outcomes of four different Science Curricula developed in Turkey over the years to reveal the change in the data obtained over the years. Document review method was used in this study. While the Science curriculum developed over the years was examined in terms of Health Education, the achievements were examined only within the scope of the keywords determined by experts (Health, Cleanliness, Hygiene, Medicine and Treatment) and comparisons were made accordingly. As a result of the highest number of health education concepts were included in the objectives of 2005 Science and Technology Curriculum, whereas the objectives in the 2024 Science Curriculum included the lowest number of concepts related to health education. In the light of the findings, it can be concluded that the necessary importance is not given to health education in the science curricula, and health issues are included only in the field of biology and basic level achievements in certain units in a recurring pattern over the years. Suggestions for future research were also presented
