Özet

This work finds out the factors, which influence the anxiety and provides data to the managers by fixing the levels of anxiety on the nurses. This research based on the disscussion of the performance appras al of the nurses. The scop of the research contains the staff nurses (100) in a private hospital With no method of sampling employed, a total of 70 nurses by discussions of the performance appraisal were included in the study the rate of participation was % 70. In the research the data were collected from the questionaire regarding personal information and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (adopted to Turkish by Oner and Compte and improved by Spielberger, Gorsuch and Lushene). The collected data were evaluated by the researchers using percentage, Mann Whitney -U and Kruskal Wallis analysis on computer. The trait anxiety level (X=45) and state anxiety level (X=6I) of the nurses. Comparing the trait and state anxiety levels with that of independent varience (age, education, experience, willingness of the profession and satisfaction from the institution) there is no meaningful! relation except the variance of satisfaction from the institution. The necessary steps have to be taken by the managers in order to reduce the average anxiety of the nurses found out in this research.
