Abstract

Operating microscope light induced phototoxic retinopathy is characterized with oval type lesions and these lesions occur generally at parafoveal areas. The most important facilitating factor is the long operation duration. Though visual acuity is mostly unaffected; paracentral scotoma may interfere with the visual comfort. In this study, we describe the clinical findings of five eyes of four patients with operating microscope light induced phototoxicity and discuss the entity.
