Özet

The three- dimensional (3D) textiles are identified as advanced fabric systems that include separated fiber or yarn groups in their three main axes. The specific structures of 3D textiles impart extraordinary mechanical properties

to them and their composites. Therefore, 3D textiles have been demanded by various industries such as aviation, space, automotive, medical, etc. 3D textiles can be obtained by the weaving, stitching, braiding, tufting, knitting,

or non- woven production methods. The load- bearing capacity of polymer composites is mainly characterized by the reinforcement. Although several research studies were carried out on the mechanical properties of 3D

composites, only a few focused on the mechanics of dry structures. Furthermore, the discrepancies among the mechanical properties of 3D textiles need to be clarified. In this study, the 3D carbon woven, 3D stitched carbon

woven, and 3D multi-axis warp knitted carbon fabrics were tested under the tensile load, and their strength and stiffness values were determined. According to the purpose of end-use, significant differences were obtained.
