Abstract

In this study, experimental design is applied to tabu search (TS) factors in order to solve parallel machine scheduling problem with release dates. Initial sequence, generating mechanism, tabu list length are considered as controllable TS factors; and their effects on makespan, average tardiness, number of tardy jobs are analyzed using significance tests.
