Abstract

After the construction of Revan Castle, the city gained its identity. In this study, the architectural development phases of the inner city of the fortress were examined and the changes in the historical and political process of the Turkish heritage and the reflections of this change on the urban environment were investigated. The physical characteristics of the centers of Azerbaijan / Turkish Khanates were discussed, comments were made on the determination of the common character of the city structure and architecture, also it has been pointed out that monuments with artistic value are largely destroyed. The importance of these structures, which constitute an important place in the architectural history of Azerbaijan, in the medieval Turkish architectural tradition, was emphasized and the dimensions of interaction with the Great Seljuk heritage were discussed in relation to the examples. In the study, comparative criticism was brought to the results of the deliberate deterioration of the physical structure of the Turkish city with the interventions in the Tsarist Russia period. In addition, a large number of qualified structures, which could not reach the present day, were identified from archive sources and publications and their visuals were published.
