Özet

Thermal waters emerge from trachyandesite of basal volcanic unit along N-NE trending fault in Hisarkoy geothermal area. Surface temperatures of thermal waters vary between 40 and 98 degrees C with electrical conductivity values of around 3070 mu S/cm. The thermal waters are Na-HCO3 and SO4 type. The cold groundwaters are Ca-Mg-HCO3 type. Dissolution of plagioclase in host rock and ion-exchange reactions in the reservoir cause the Ca-Mg-HCO3 type cold groundwaters to shift to the Na-HCO3-SO4 type thermal waters. Arsenic contents of thermal water are remarkable high of 1360 mu g/L. Thermal waters are oversaturated with aragonite, calcite, chalcedony, quartz and dolomite minerals. Gypsum and anhydrite are undersaturated in all the thermal waters. When waters from deep wells are used for balneological and heating purposes, calcite scaling problems will be encountered.
