Özet

In a previous study of ours,12 the interpolymeric associations based on alginic acid - poly(N-isopropyl acryl amide) (AgA/PNIPAM) were found to be more stable over the AgA/PNIPAM composition range of 15-70%/85-30%. The present study analyzes the dependence of phase transition temperature on the interpolymeric association composition and pH, by viscometric and spectroscopic measurements. The transition temperature determined over the 30-33 °C range showed a slight increase with increasing the AgA content, along with a possible synergistic effect between temperature and the ionic species within the solution, to which IPC is responsive.
