Özet

Ridge regression method, is one of the methods used as an alternative to least squares method in the presence of multicollinearity problem occurred in multiple regression analysis. The aim of this study was to estimate the shell weight by using morphometric measurements (shell length, height, width and cup index) for Abra alba individuals. Ridge regression method was applied due to the multicollinearity problem between body measurements and the results of these two methods were compared. The results showed that the multicollinearity was eliminated and provided an appropriate model for the estimation of shell weight by using ridge regression method.
