Özet
Since their serendipitous discovery in 1928 and their first peer-reviewed description in 1934 in the Journal of the Chemical Society, phthalocyanines have proven to have suitable properties for a wide range of biomedical and technological applications. Their structural versatility is infinite, which does not mean that all new structures are innovative and of interest. While some are starting to think that everything interesting has been done, this mini-review aims at demonstrating that research on these very nice porphyrinoids still offers exciting research topics and promising developments while addressing regioisomerism, synthetic limitations, integration into nanotechnology and modern green chemistry aspects.
