The purpose of this study is to assess the views and opinions of school principals and teachers on positive education.
The sample of the study includes 8 school principals and 12 teachers who attend different public schools in İzmir,
Turkey. Data is collected through semi-structured interview technique. Findings show that majority of the participants
have no knowledge about positive education and positive psychology. Participants state that schools can increase
students’ well-being, and both academic and well-being skills can be taught at schools. Finally, majority of the
participants report that positive education is necessary for Turkish schools.
