Abstract

Advances in the field of sustainable management of natural resources made possible the enhanced understanding on the exchanges between human activities and ecological, earth and ocean systems. With the realization of the changes in the nature, human being tried to find the way lessening the damages given to the natural sources by the human activities. Depending on the social demands and environmental reasons, many strategies on the Issues like water and wastewater treatment, waste management, air pollution have been developed by the communities. Recently, sludge related problems took place as one of the most challenging environmental problems in World wide. This paper explores historical development of sludge management in Turkey from point view of practical applications as well as legal aspects of Turkish environmental policy. © 2007 DEStech Publications, Inc.
