Özet

As a result of the awareness and consciousness of individuals in the field of health issues and

related products, protective textiles, as a sub-category of technical textiles, havereceived more and more

attention in last decades.In the literature, It has been stated in various studies that electromagnetic (EM)

radiation causes health problems such as brain tumours, Alzheimer's, allergies, stress, depression and

sleep disorders. Therefore, the damages caused to the human body by EMwaves have become one of the

priority studies of both professionals andacademicians. Textiles that provide EM shieldingensure

protection by reducing the signals tolevels where they cannot be affected or received further. In this

study, the main aim is to design and develop a set of garment prototypes, especially for children, because

of their long-term usage about mobile technology such as tablet computers and mobile phones. It is

aimed that these productscan be used comfortably in daily life and provide sufficient amount of

shielding. For this reason, in addition to the production of prototypes, analyses on the basic parameters

of the textile-based materials used in these garmentsas well as functional properties were also carried

out.
