Özet
There are limited studies in Turkey on the tunicates, related to the Ascidiacea classis, which are important because of their systematic positions and developments. There are few studies that deal with classification of ascidian and the knowledge about their distributions are evaluated with the studies of other marine organisms. The aim of this study is to explain the distinctive features that will be useful to determine the taxonomy of ascidians. The basic characteristics which must be considered will be mentioned and a key to family will be given.
