Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis is a rare chronic inflammatory process of the gall bladder wall which sometimes mimics carcinoma. We herein present a case which involved liver, adhesive to transverse colon, omentum and duodenum, masquerading carcinoma at the operation. As such cases may be accepted as inoperable, intraoperative biopsy should be performed.
