Özet

Samples from 33 different sampling points in the Gediz River were analysed and the distributions of Ti, Ca, Y, La, Ce, Mn, Zn, Ba, Rb, Sr, and Zr were investigated by energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometry. Two annular sources, Cd-109 and Am-241, and two detectors, Si(Li) and HPGe, were used. The fundamental parameter technique (FPT) was adopted for quantitative analysis of the elements. The concentration of Zr was found to be higher than the value corresponding to the mean chemical composition of the lithosphere. According to the other element concentrations, not only industry, but also geological structure and agricultural activities were seen to contribute in polluting of the basin soil.
