Abstract

This article aims to investigate the scientific studies of Ahmed Adnan Saygun, which he performed in the research fields of Folklore and Comparative Musicology, and to discuss his contribution to ethnomusicology. The books, papers and articles that reflect the results of Saygun's research are the sources used in this article. The subtitles of this article, in line with the general discussion, also reflect the factors that played a role on Saygun's formation as a scholar.
