Storing nuclear waste repositories under the ground is an accepted solution method. In this case, it is necessary to examine the change in the physical properties of bentonite to be used in the buffer zone around nuclear wastes under the influence of high temperatures. In this study, the volume deformation behavior of bentonite clay with colemanite addition was investigated at room temperature and in the presence of high temperature (80 °C). For this purpose, consolidation tests and free swell index (FSI) tests were performed. The results have shown that the vertical compression and swell index of bentonite decreased in the presence of colemanite under high temperature.
