Aim: Excreted tetracycline via urine and feces of animals is an important ecological problem since microorganisms in soils can change their genetic structures to be resistant against tetracycline. Therefore, uncontrolled release of this antibiotic to environment should be prevented. Biosorption of tetracycline by Caulerpa scalpelliformis, alien seaweed for Turkish coastlines, was studied in the present study.
