The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the postgraduate theses on the concept of "faith
tourism," which is an important type of tourism for Turkey, in terms of the criteria determined
over a 25-year period. In this context, the Council of Higher Education Thesis Center was scanned
in December 2023, and 73 theses on faith tourism were recorded. The data obtained according to
the determined criteria were examined by the bibliometric analysis method, and the findings were
interpreted. In the study, the "keywords" and "suggestions" sections of the theses were also
examined, and themes were identified and grouped. These findings also constitute an aspect of
the study that differs from similar bibliometric studies since in previous studies where faith
tourism related theses were analyzed in a similar way; there was no evaluation of thesis
suggestions and keywords. According to the results obtained, the subject of faith tourism was
mostly studied in 2019; it was predominantly preferred in universities with master's degree
programs in the relevant field; the potential of faith tourism in a certain place or region was mostly
addressed as the main subject; and the necessity to increase promotional activities in the relevant
field was emphasized. It is thought that the current findings and evaluations made in this study
will be especially useful for future studies to be carried out in the relevant field.
