The title compound, C16H22N2, consists of a carbazole skeleton with a butylamine side chain at position 2. Molecules are linked about inversion centres by N-H . . .N hydrogen bonds [N . . .N 2.950 (3) Angstrom] to form centrosymmetric dimers.
