Abstract

This article deals with the static and dynamic stabilities of cantilever symmetric laminated beams. In this study, three-dimensional finite element model based on the classical lamination plate theory is used. A computer code is developed using MATLAB software to perform the finite element analyses. Effects of the ply orientation, static and dynamic load parameters on the stability are examined. It is observed that ply orientations affect the location and the width of the instability regions.
