Özet

Operating room personnel are affected by several well-known low back pain risk factors and represent a leading portion of the population who will benefit most from ergonomic improvements. We describe an ergonomic patient positioning technique for knee replacement procedures. With this ergonomic positioning of the patient by the use of very common equipment, our purpose is to provide comfortable working conditions and efficient use of energy, which is essential for surgeons and assistants who already have an excessive amount of work every day; it also ensures a steady and firm positioning of the knee for the surgeon and helps achieve lower infection rates by reducing the number of operating room staff.
