Abstract

From the tenth century Christianization had occurred as a social and political effect with contribution of several factors; likewise swelling trade volume, urbanization, missionary activities and endogenous motivations of neighbor societies. Especially coming back of Viking colonies to their homeland started to make Christianization an identical appearance for Scandinavian societies. Vikings which had colonized the English islands and started to settle permanently there transformed the powers that carrying their new religion and religious identical conversion. This paper's main goals are impacts of Vikings of England at religious conquest at Scandinavian Peninsula. While local historical materials used for the purpose of this paper, argued roots of the Vikings in their homeland with runic inscriptions, later put in to writing sagas and scientific researches which considered as secondarily. As a result of investigated historical materials and argued historical roots, impacts of Viking colonies at England to religious conquest of Scandinavia tried to reveal.
