Özet
This research examines the impact of new media technologies on musician identity within the framework of contemporary concepts such as artificial intelligence, the metaverse, and digital transformation. Through a bibliometric analysis conducted using quantitative data, the study aims to provide a systematic overview of publications produced around these themes, highlighting research trends and identifying potential gaps in the academic literature regarding the transformation of musician identity. The structural changes brought about by digitalization in the music industry have redefined not only the production and distribution conditions of musician identity but also its cultural and societal dimensions. AI-driven music composition, sound production, and performance applications have opened new avenues in artistic processes, while virtual concerts and interactions within the metaverse offer experiences that transcend physical limitations. For this purpose, research data were collected from the Web of Science database and analyzed using bibliometric methods. The 1152 publications retrieved were evaluated through key metrics such as co-authorship networks, citation patterns, and keyword distributions using VOSviewer software. The analysis revealed that terms like “artificial intelligence,” “music,” “deep learning,” and “machine learning” are frequently discussed in the literature. Additionally, the United States, China, and the United Kingdom were identified as central players in terms of both publications and citations in this field. The findings demonstrate that the transformation of musician identity extends far beyond technological adaptation, encompassing ethical, legal, and educational dimensions. The new musician identity shaped by AI and the metaverse offers diverse opportunities and sparks debates in terms of creativity and modes of expression. In this context, the increasing integration of interdisciplinary approaches in the music research literature contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of the impact of digitalization on musician identity.
