The main leitmotif of Shestov's writings is the liberation of man from the rationalist and positivist limitations
of reason in the realm of faith. Shestov sought and fought for a faith that knows no doubt and no regard for reason.
In the Islamic tradition, “yaqeen” is a faith devoid of doubt and the hindsight of reason. The purpose of this paper is to draw
a parallel between the Islamic concept of “yaqeen” and Shestov's “second dimension of thinking”.
