The main consideration in the classical methods of defining coal washability is the ash ratio of the run-of-mine coal. However, both the differences in ± 0.1 g/cm 3 density values and the shape of ash curves are affected from the ash ratio changes in the same coal. Since the M-CM method is not dependent on the ash content of the coal, it is considered to be a suitable method for Turkish coals with high ash content. In this study, the M-CM method will be introduced briefly and some examples and comparisons will be given on the basis of different Turkish coals.
