Özet

In this study, a short view was given on dry cleaning methods. Dry cleaning provides a number of advantages for coal consumers over the conventional wet processes. Dry beneficiation methods are gaining importance especially for lignites with high moisture and ash content being used in thermal power plants in order to decrease the problems arising from high ash content of the run of mine coal. After wet cleaning, much of the improvement in energy content derived from ash reduction is offset by surface moisture gain. Some low-rank coals can be broken down upon exposure to water, generating excessive fines, which result moisture and handling problems. Besides the cost of fine slurry disposal in general can be significantly high. On the other hand the main disadvantage of dry coal beneficiation is low performance. However, with the new developments in coal processing technologies, dry beneficiation methods are gaining importance since even removing of the free stones from coal, accounts big benefits especially for power plants.
