Özet

The aim of this study was to evaluate the epidemiologic and clinicopathological characteristics and treatment outcome of pediatric Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) cases treated in our institution. The patient records were reviewed retrospectively. Thirty-eight patients were eligible out of 51. The median age was 10 years and M:F ratio was 1.7:1. The major histological subtype was nodular sclerosis. The treatment regimen was COPP and/or ABVD + involvedfield radiotherapy (IFRT) in 24, and GPOH-HD 90 + IFRT in 13 patients. Median follow-up was 105 months. At 5 and 10 years event-free survival rates were 77% and 73%; overall survival rates were 96% and 92%, respectively. Survival rates were comparable with the other studies from Turkey. No prognostic factor could be determined owing to the limited patient number. The epidemiologic and clinical features of pediatric HL may show considerable differences even between the regions of a country. We need large scale national trials to determine our own risk factors and design risk-based therapy regimens accordingly.
