Abstract

In this study, the effect of belt conveyor speed on marble surface quality was investigated during the polishing process. For this purpose, three different samples which are known as Bursa Emprador (Limestone), Bucak Travertine, Mugla White (Marble), were tested by using automatic narrow polish machine with 2+4 heads. The polishing experiments were conducted in various belt conveyor speeds when the head pressure and rotation were stable. Then the surface brightness and roughness were measured to describe the surface quality in the some stage of the process.
