In this study, computer controlled wireless (radio frequency,
rf) radiation monitoring system is developed for nuclear laboratories.
The aim of this system is to continuously check radiation level of the
radiation laboratories using only one control centre. The system
consist of counting and evaluating pulses produced by a radioactive
particle in Geiger-Müller (G-M) detector. These pulses obtained from
the detector are shapped preamplifier and transferred into main module
via RF transmitter. The receiver signal is given to microcontroller
counter input. The evaluation of pulses is done by microcontroller’s
software and transferred to the COM port of computer via RS 232. The
data through developed program are evaluated, stored and converted to
graphics. This study also constitutes a series of multiple warning
systems.
