Özet

This study examines the potential of combining ChatGPT's artificial intelligence with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for nondestructive, non-contact quality monitoring across manufacturing industries. An initial dataset of OCT images is introduced to distinguish between genuine and faux leather, marking the first step in exploring the capability of this technology for material identification. The research assesses the feasibility of employing ChatGPT to analyze OCT images, which could enhance material characterization techniques. While our findings suggest that integrating ChatGPT with OCT might provide insights into leather properties, this is an initial exploration, and further studies are needed to fully realize the potential applications. The results indicate a promising direction for AI-assisted methods in nondestructive testing and quality control within the realms of smart manufacturing and Industry 5.0. This study lays the groundwork for future research that could potentially integrate traditional craftsmanship with digital innovation, aiming to transform quality assurance processes in the manufacturing industry.
