Abstract

The complexes [(eta(3)-C6H9)Pd(eta(2)-S2CNR2)] (R = Me, 1; Et, 2), [(eta(3)-Me2CCMeCH2) Pd (eta(2)-S2COEt)](3) and [(eta(3)-Me2CCMeCH2)Pd(eta(2)-S2PPh2)] 4 have been synthesized by reaction of [(eta(3)-allyl)Pd(mu-Cl)](2) with NaS2CNR2 (R = Me, Et), KS2COEt and NaS2PPh2. They have been characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, H-1 NMR and FAB mass spectrometry. Spectroscopic studies suggest that sulfur donor ligands are bidentate, forming Pd-S-C-S and Pd-S-P-S palladacycles, an eta(3)-allyl group completing the coordination sphere.
