Laughter Yoga as a Nursing Intervention, Prof. Dr. Özüm Erkin, Editör, NOVA Science Publishers Inc. , New York, ss.69-81, 2026
Abstract
The effectiveness of laughter yoga for health has gained much attention in the literature in recent years. Although research supports many effects of laughter yoga on physical and psychological systems, studies on its use during pregnancy are limited. Studies conducted during pregnancy show that laughter yoga can prevent incontinence by strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, have positive effects on labor pain and birth outcomes, increase mother-infant bonding by providing psychological resilience, increase normal birth rates, strengthen the immune system of mothers, and support the health of future generations by reducing maternal stress. In this context, it is necessary to integrate laughter yoga into the practice of prenatal support programs, such as childbirth preparation classes, and to conduct research in this area to evaluate its effectiveness.
