In this research, ceramic properties of the Doganhisar (Konya) clays and its utilization in floor-tile bodies were studied. The clay samples were obtained from Tokluoglu Mining Plant. The mineralogical compositions of the clay samples were determined by X-ray diffraction. Thermal properties of the samples were determined by DTA/TG. The clay samples were fired at 950, 1000, 1050, 1100, 1150, 1200 degrees C and physical properties (water absorption and elongation) were studied. Doganhisar clay samples were also used in floor tile recipes at the ratios of %5, %10, %15, %20 and fired at 1140, 1160 and 1180 degrees C. It was concluded that Doganhisar (Konya) clays could be used effectively as an alternative raw material in floor-tile manufacturing
