Saime Esin Güney1** 1Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Pedodonti Anabilim Dalı, İzmir, Türkiye *ORCID ID:0000-0002-7422-0482 **ORCID ID: 0000-0002-5735-9773 Adres: DEÜ Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi 15 Temmuz Sağlık ve Sanat Yerleşkesi Tıp Derslikleri Binası No:56/17 İnciraltı 35340 Balçova / İzmir Telefon: 0 232 412 88 10 E-mail: saimeesin.guney@deu.edu.tr Giriş: Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi (DEU) Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksek Okulu (SHMYO) Ağız Diş Sağlığı Programı (ADSP) öğrencilerinde yüz-yüze başlayan eğitim, 2019 mart ayından itibaren uzaktan eğitim şekline dönmüştür.  Bu çalışmanın amacı, geleneksel eğitim (GE) ve uzaktan eğitim (UE) gören öğrencilerin başarı düzeylerini karşılaştırmak ve almakta oldukları eğitime yönelik memnuniyet algılarını değerlendirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya DEU SHMYO ADSP 1. ve 2. sınıf öğrencileri dahil edilmiş, öğrencilere GE ve UE ile ilgili 14 soruluk anket düzenlenmiştir. Anket formunda öğrencilerin UE'ye katılım yöntemleri, derslere katılım ve takip düzeyleri, öğretim üyeleri ile olan iletişimleri, GE ve UE sistemine bakış açıları ve bu sistemlerden beklentileri, ailelerin UE ve GE sistemine bakışı ve aile ekonomisine etkileri sorulmuştur. Ek olarak, öğrencilerin yıl sonu not ortalamaları karşılaştırılmıştır. Değerlendirmede “Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows 20.0” programı kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmaya %70.4'ü kadın olan 108 öğrenci katılmıştır. Birinci ve ikinci sınıf öğrencileri arasında GE ile UE'ye bakış açıları arasında istatistiksel fark olmadığı görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin GE’de teorik dersleri daha düzenli takip edebilmelerine karşın; kayıt altındaki UE yöntemiyle dersleri defalarca dinleyebildikleri görülmüştür. Uygulama derslerinin ise GE yöntemi ile yapılması gerektiği saptanmıştır (p=0.05). Ailelerin UE'ye bakış açısının ise ekonomik nedenlerle olumlu olduğu gözlenmiştir (p:=0,041) Sonuç: Ağız diş sağlığı programlarında GE ve UE yönteminin kombine uygulanmasının eğitim başarısı ve öğrenci memnuniyeti açısından daha uygun olacağı düşünülmektedir.  Anahtar Kelimeler: uzaktan eğitim, geleneksel eğitim, covid-19, öğrenci 7 Bu PDF kitapçık 54 sayfadır Evaluation of Traditional and Distance Education in Programme of Oral and Dental Health Students Introduction: The education that started face-to-face for the students of the Dokuz Eylul University (DEU) Vocational School of Health Services (VSHS) Programme of Oral and Dental Health (PODH) has turned into distance education as of March 2019. The aim of this study is to compare the success levels of traditional education (TE) and distance education (DE) students and to evaluate their perceptions of satisfaction with the education they are receiving. Materials and Methods: DEU, VSHS, DODH, 1st and 2nd year students were included in the study, and a 14-question survey about TE and DE was given to the students. In the questionnaire, students were asked about the methods of participation in DE, their level of participation and follow-up in classes, their communication with academic staff, their perspectives on the TE and DE system and their expectations from these systems, families' view of the TE and DE system and its effects on the family economy. In addition, students' end-ofyear grade point averages were compared.  “Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows 20.0” program was used in the evaluation.  Results: 108 students, 70.4% of whom were women, participated in the study. It was observed that there was no statistical difference between first and second year students' perspectives on TE and DE. Although students can follow the theoretical lessons more regularly at TE; It was seen that they could listen to the lectures many times with the recorded DE method. It was determined that the practical lessons should be done with the TE method (p=0.05). It was observed that the families' perspective on DE was positive for economic reasons (p:=0.041). Conclusion: It is thought that the combined application of TE and DE method in DODH will be more appropriate in terms of educational success and student satisfaction.
