Özet

Six inscriptions from Cilicia and Isauria in the Museum of Mersin (Turkey) · Five Greek and one Latin inscriptions are published and commented: two inscriptions including an honorific metrical text from the fourth century b.c. and a dedication to Hermes and Herakles from 41 b.c. coming from the gymnasium of Soloi-Pompeiopolis (no. 1A-B); the foundation inscription of the fortification walls of the port of the city in a.d. 143 under Antoninus Pius mentioning a new governor of the Roman province of Cilicia, Allenius Crispinus (no. 2); a Hellenistic and clanic inscription of a group of Isaurians including new Anatolian anthroponyms (no. 3); a Latin milestone mentioning in a.d. 214 the governor Q. Sallustius Macrinianus under Caracalla (no. 4); finally, a short Greek epitaph from Roman Imperial times (no. 5). These six unpublished inscriptions help us improve our knowledge of the history of Soloi-Pompeiopolis during the Roman civil wars in the Late Republic, dealing also with the social, cultural, economical, political, geopolitical, military, architectural history of western Cilicia Pedias, Rough Cilicia and southern Isauria until the Late Roman Empire.
