Özet
The use of natural fibers within the composites brings difficulties as well as advantages. The mechanical properties of natural fibers depend on several factors, such as the type of fiber, harvesting quality, and climate conditions. This phenomenon makes it more complex to predict their mechanical properties. Moreover, intra-ply hybridization brings further challenges to developing numerical models. In this study, first, the geometrical model of the flax/e-glass intra-ply hybrid woven fabric was developed. Afterward, the representative volume element of the composite was modeled, and the extension behavior was analyzed. Moreover, the intra-ply hybrid composite was produced and tested for model validation. As a result, the maximum stress, Young’s modulus, and stress–strain graph of the composite could be successfully predicted.
