In recent years, the transportation sector has taken the first place in technical textiles market in terms of production rates. Since the automobile seats are the materials which the users always in contact with, seat covers became one of the most important factors for users' comfort. In this paper, main fiber and fabric types and standards were researched for automotive seat covers. Since test standards are very high, seat covers must have high abrasion resistance and UV degradation resistance to maintain long term uses and high resale values. The fiber that responds to these expectations is the polyester fiber. Besides these, the main fabric technologies are woven, warp knitted fabrics, weft knitted fabrics and circular knitted fabrics.
