Minimally invasive pectus excavatum (PE) repair technique was developed by Dr Nuss as an alternative to standart "Ravitch" technique. With Nuss procedure, PE could be repaired without cartilage resections and osteotomies. Compaired with the other standart techniques, Nuss procedure is more appealing to the surgeons, the patients and their parents with lesser blood loss, small scar occurrence and the shorter operation time. The 15 years results of Nuss procedure shows that, in the prepubertal age group patients, the cosmetic results are satisfactory. PE of a 11 years old patient was repaired with Nuss procedure. The steel bar was inserted in the chest through bilateral thoracal incisions with thoracoscopy guidance, with its convexity facing posteriorly. With a subxiphoid insicion, the sternum was retracted upwards to pass the bar safely through the mediastinum. Then the bar was rotated 180° to raise the sternum.
