Özet

Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) devices provide a treatment method that is frequently used for the cure of terminal arrhythmias and advanced-stage heart failures. Even though the ICDs are clinically efficient, they bring along a series of psychosocial difficulties for both patients and their families. A particular attention should be paid to the psychological support and training of these patients and their families to increase their life quality. A number of technological methods are used to train the ICD patients. The objective of interventions is to remove the psychosocial problems of patients and increase the quality of life. Great changes in technology and the interest of individuals in this subject have caused the healthcare professionals to have an increased interest in this subject, as well. Technology-based training programs have developed for both sick and healthy individuals. The objective of this article is to present the results of health training studies that were conducted by applying technology on ICD patients and to bring a relevant viewpoint in all the healthcare professionals, primarily the nurses.
