Abstract

In cases where discectomy is carried out, cage and fusion materials are recommended to be placed in the disc distance to prevent complications such as narrowing at the disc distance and foraminal distance that may develop. It is recommended to use autogenous bone grafts primarily in anterior interbody fusion surgery.  Synthetic grafts can be used to prevent complications such as pain and infection in the area of receiving autogenous bone grafts. Today, research on synthetic graft technologies continues. In this study, the effect of fusion was investigated when the pipe, which is effective for bone and calcium metabolism, was applied locally to intervertebral disc distance. In this study where hydroxyapatite and pipe were compared, remains were formed in all subjects radiologically. Boron and Hydroxy apathy have been shown to form the same sizes of calculus.  Pathologically, although hydroxy is not as much as apatite, it has been seen to create a better amount of fusion than the control group. The osteoblastic activity was most commonly seen in the hydroxyapatite group.
