Abstract

In this study increasing the strength of Hook's joint by residual stresses has been investigated. Finite element method is used to make this analysis. In finite element meshing ,isoparametric quadrilateral elements with four-nods is chosen and lagraenge polynomial is used as the interpolation function. Elasto-plastic stress analysis is done to calculate the residual stresses. It is observed that the constitutional residual stresses increased the strength in the critical section of hook's joint.
