Abstract

In this work, tensile, bursting, impact strengths and behaviors against the impact of the certain cellular woven fabrics, which are important properties for technical fabrics, have been investigated and compared with those of the plain woven fabric, the basic weave. The effects of weave and yarn densities, which are fabric structural characteristics, on these properties have been analyzed graphically and statistically. It was observed that plain woven fabric performed better during tensile tests than cellular woven fabrics, whereas the cellular woven fabrics performed better during bursting and impact tests than the plain woven fabric. In addition, the increases of yarn densities have improved the physical properties of cellular woven fabrics.
